Job Description:
Production Manager – Albany, PE
Garden Isle Farms Ltd is currently seeking candidates for the position of Working Foreman - Production Manager at our potato packing plant in Albany, PE.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who controls the entire production facility by taking initiative, displaying problem solving and decision making abilities, excellent organizational skills all the while keeping a positive and professional attitude in a fast paced and ever changing work environment. The successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills and put high priority on a safe work environment while keeping a sense of urgency to meet quality standards and production goals.
The candidate will work with team members to develop their existing skills and lead them through the entire production process. Leadership will be by example and with a commitment to identify opportunities for improved efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
• Working on a production floor with the ability to lead by example
• Maintaining a safe work environment
• Demonstrated ability to motivate and train staff to deliver quality and production standards
• Ability to trouble shoot and solve problems
• Schedule & prioritize to meet deadlines
• Ensure proper maintenance schedule by either performing or assisting with these duties
• Assisting with production scheduling and inventory
• Other duties as may be required
Experience/Qualifications:
• Previous experience supervising or managing a crew considered an asset
• Proven skills in excellent time management
• Previous agricultural experience, specifically in potato packing, would be considered an asset
• Work experience in electrical, mechanical trades considered an asset
• Work experience in trouble shooting, operation of equipment, diagnostics considered an asset
• Valid class 5 driver’s license
This is a full time, permanent position. Salary will be based on qualifications and experience.
