Required Skills:
Skills & Qualifications
• Knowledge of the PEI agriculture industry is required
• Agriculture degree considered an asset
• Education/Teacher experience considered an asset
• Proven experience as a program coordinator or relevant position
• Knowledge of program and project management
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe, WordPress and social media platforms
• Strong communication and active listening skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Team-oriented but able to work independently
• Must be able to lift over 10 lbs.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.

Employment Terms

• This position is 4-5 days a week
• Some work outside of regular business hours and/or outside of the office will be required.
• A combination of working at Office and from home may be considered

Job Description:
Agriculture in the Classroom PEI (AITC-PEI) is a provincial member of the national organization Agriculture in the Classroom Canada. Alongside other provincial members, we are driven by a passion for the agriculture and food sector and lifelong learning.

AITC-PEI delivers accurate, balanced, and current curriculum-linked agri-food resources, programs, and initiatives that are based on science. Through inquiry-based learning, we encourage students and educators to be curious, critical thinkers. By offering dynamic and unique outreach opportunities to connect with Canadians who make their living in agri-food, we bring students up close and personal with Canada's agriculture and food story.

Roles & Responsibilities
• Coordinate delivery into PEI classrooms on current National & Provincial initiatives working with project coordinators
• Develop new projects & teacher resource materials for new programming, including curriculum linking.
• Develop relationships with commodity boards, agri-business, primary producers and other organizations
• Develop relationship with Department of Education & Lifelong Learning and Department of Agriculture & Land
• Work with Agriculture in the Classroom Canada and other provincial AITC’s
• Write grant proposals for fund development and reports for funders
• Responsible for AITC-P Budget
