McCain Fertilizer, a Division of McCain Produce Inc, is a leading distributer of crop inputs, including blended fertilizer, crop protection products and other related inputs, with multiple locations in Atlantic Canada and the State of Maine.
We are seeking a results-oriented team player to join us in the role of Site Supervisor based out of our Middleton, PEI location. Reporting directly to the PEI Operations Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for all production functions of the site including maintenance, inventory control, staff hiring while providing leadership/supervision to employees and the facility, always ensuring a safe work environment.


QUALIFICATIONS:
o Ability to work with minimum supervision in a team environment
o Prior experience in a supervisory role leading others would be an asset.
o Effective Verbal and Written communication skills.
o Basic computer skills, Email, Basic MS Office
o Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively using effective time management and organizational skills.
o Must work with a strong sense of urgency.
o Possession of a Class 3A license and the ability to operate a forklift and skid loader would be an asset.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
o Foster a safe work environment and promote continuous improvement initiatives with regards to workplace safety.
o Ensure proper safety policies and procedures are followed; actively participate in health & safety initiatives, taking a lead role at the facility in safety optimization in the drive towards zero incidents.
o Ensure effective operation, productivity and maintenance of site facilities and equipment.
o Assist or monitor preventive maintenance and repairs of all equipment and buildings.
o Conduct on the job training with all new employees and ensure employees are properly trained in their positions.
o Supervise plant employees for the Middleton site and continually strive to foster a team environment.
o Responsible for inventory management (receiving, tracking, orders, transfers).
o Work with Operations Supervisors to operate within budget expectations.
o Able to work extended hours during the busy spring season.
o Willing and capable of doing some exterior physical labor in varying weather conditions as required.
Wages:
$25/h-$30/h
